Neuschwanstein Castle Germany

Neuschwanstein Castle is the "modern" Fairy Tale Castle of King Ludwig II that opened to the public in 1886 after his death. Located in Southern Bavaria with the Alps as a backdrop, the setting is as stunning as the castle itself. Walt Disney was inspired by the architecture and used it as an inspiration for Disneyland. Taking more than 17 years to build, the castle is perched high in the mountains affording it 50+ miles views into Italy, Switzerland and Southern Bavaria. Truly a remarkable achievement done in Romanesque Revival Architecture.
