Krishna's birth story is a central narrative in Hindu mythology. He was born to Devaki and Vasudeva, who were imprisoned by King Kansa, Devaki's brother.

Kansa had imprisoned them due to a prophecy that Devaki's eighth child would kill him. To protect Krishna, Vasudeva secretly took him across the Yamuna River to Gokul, where he was placed in the care of Yashoda and Nanda.

Krishna grew up in Gokul, where he displayed his divine powers and performed many miraculous feats.

He eventually returned to Mathura, killed Kansa, and played a key role in the epic Mahabharata, imparting the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna.
