Malaysia has declared a state
Malaysia has declared a state of emergency to fight the worsening COVID-19 outbreak. The Emergency Order will last until Aug 1 or earlier. The move has also tightened Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin's grip on power as he staves off elections for now. Meanwhile, former UMNO supreme council member Nazri Aziz has withdrawn support for the ruling Perikatan Nasional coalition, which means Mr Muhyiddin's government has lost its majority.
