Why every 2x2 out of paper sucks

There are plenty of 2x2s out of paper on the internet, but when having a closer look, none of them really works. In this video, I will show you why the classical "string" mechanism doesn't work at all, and I'll show you why my attempt of a 2x2 out of paper wasn't much better.
To give this story a silver lining, I'll show you a new approach for a paper 2x2 that might work better than every other version on the internet.
