Revenge of the Mummy is an indoor steel launch roller coaster and dark ride at Universal Studios Florida , Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Singapore theme parks . The attraction is based on the movie The Mummy . The characters from the movie also appear on the ride. The first part of the attraction is a dark ride section, where various animatronics are set up along the track, including that of the mummy himself. This is followed by the roller coaster part. The vehicle is helped to a certain speed by means of a launch section. During the journey, the vehicle comes to a stop and continues its route in reverse. On June 25 , 2004, the attraction opened in the Lower Lot theme area as a replacement for the dark ride ET Adventure . Like the Florida roller coaster, the attraction cost $40 million to build. [1] The entrance is decorated in Egyptian style. Next to the entrance gate are Egyptian sculptures on both sides. The roller coaster has a top speed of 64.4 km/h, is 548.6 meters long and a ride lasts two minutes.
