I took a midnight bus from Tehran to Isfahan, which took around 5 hours. When I got there, I met Fatima who kindly offered to host me to stay with her and her mother. They had a traditional breakfast ready for me, which we ate over some shared stories. Fatima was amazing, and could speak 5 languages, including korean (her korean was almost better than mine!).

I decided to spend the day in Naqsh-e Jahan Square, which is the made square in the centre of Isfahan. It is surrounded by famous mosques and beautiful bazaars. I walked around the Shah mosque, with beautiful blue interiors like I had never seen before. Once I started to get hungry, I found a banquet hall with outdoor seating, and decided to get A LOT of food (just so I could try a little bit of everything).

After more exploring around the bazaar, I found a little rooftop overlooking the square. It was getting pretty cold at night, so one of the waitresses gave me a blanket to wrap myself in, while I warmed up to some hot chocolate and cake.

A really special first day. Please stay tuned for some more videos from Isfahan!
