The first train carrying passengers
The first train carrying passengers from the southwestern Chinese city of Kunming to the Lao capital of Vientiane finally departed on Thursday. Trains used to run separately on both sides of the border. But with the new cross-border service, one train will run in both directions between the two cities daily, stopping at eight stations along the way.
