Maya 2013 Render Layers Tutorial by Stuart Christensen

This in-depth tutorial by Stuart Christensen will show you how to use render layers to create great looking renders with efficient render times and help you visualize what you should be aware of as you are adjusting a scene.  In this tutorial, we'll create a special layer for just the color values, one layer for the ambient occlusion, and one layer especially for the lights.  These layers can then be output for much greater control when it comes to the compositing stage.  This is a basic, simple setup that should help everyone get better renders and pave the way for more complex layers down the road.  Enjoy!  Happy rendering (if there is such a thing!).
