Now that you have added your Australia Post account to the app and enabled carrier-calculated rates on your Shopify plan, along with adding the Australia Post app rates to your Shopify shipping profile, you are all set to display accurate shipping rates. However, there are a few more steps to ensure accuracy.
Firstly, ensure that your Shipper location is accurately configured. To do this, follow these steps:
Log in to your Shopify admin panel and go to "Settings," then select "Locations." Choose the default location configured in the Shopify store.
It's important to verify that your Country and Postal code match your warehouse location. Confirm this information to ensure accurate rate calculation.
Now, go to the app's "Settings," and in the "Locations" section, make sure that the "Shipper From" address is correct.
Next, make sure you have configured the appropriate packaging method. We recommend using the weight-based packing option. Ensure that each product is configured with its respective weight. Go to the "Packaging" section, select the "weight-based packaging" option, and set the maximum weight that can be held in a package.
Check the "Products" tab to confirm whether the weight of each product is configured correctly.
Now, you need to choose the Australia Post services you would like to offer. To do this:
Go to the "Rates" section and select the respective Australia Post services you want to display at the checkout. Here, you have the flexibility to adjust the shipping costs or rename the services to make it easier for buyers to choose. Once you're done, click "Save" to confirm the changes.
Additionally, if required, you can enable insurance and Delivery Confirmation. To do this, visit the "Auto Label Settings" section, enable insurance, and select "Delivery Signature Needed," then click "Save."
If you are offering international services, it is crucial to configure the product description, country of manufacture, and HS Code. These details are essential for accurate international shipping rates and customs clearance.
With these configurations in place, you are now fully prepared to display accurate shipping rates at checkout. When a buyer goes to their cart and provides the address, they will be offered precise Australia Post rates based on the product weight and destination address.
