Understanding Dyslexia and Dyspraxia - how to unlock the potential in neurodivergent employees

Dyslexia and dyspraxia are among the most common neurodiverse conditions, and together they affect a significant portion of the population. Yet, despite their prevalence, there remains a significant lack of awareness and understanding about the challenges these conditions can pose for people, particularly at work. This can lead to missed opportunities and untapped potential.  

We believe that employers can play a pivotal role in changing this. People with dyslexia and dyspraxia often have unique strengths that can really enrich a workplace. By promoting greater awareness, fostering an inclusive environment, and educating their teams on how they can better support neurodivergent colleagues, organisations can unlock their talent and benefit from the diverse range of perspectives and skills they bring to the table.  

In honour of World Dyslexia Awareness Day on 8th October, we hosted a FREE webinar, 'Understanding dyslexia and dyspraxia - how to unlock the potential in neurodivergent employees.'

Led by our Disability Training and Consultancy Lead, Kath Wood, and Disability Consultant, Alice Gibson, alongside our Assessor Team Leader, Claire Platts, the session delved into:
• Dyslexia and dyspraxia and their impact on individuals
• The strengths and challenges associated with these conditions
• Workplace changes and accommodations that can enable individuals to flourish at work
• How to equip your team with the knowledge and tools to support neurodivergent colleagues
• The benefits of a workplace assessment - highlighted through a case study
