Vishy Anand shocked by his former second Surya Ganguly | Tata Steel Chess India Rapid 2018

Vishy Anand and Surya Sekhar Ganguly have known each other since time immemorial. Ganguly has helped Anand win three World Championships. Hence it was very surprising that this was the first ever over the board game between Anand and Ganguly!

Until this point Anand had been playing carefully and had drawn all his 8 encounters. Ganguly on the other hand had been having a nightmare having already lost five of his games!
