Today we’re taking a look at the Basic case in Phantom Black from Torras. This case features magsafe compatibility, a tight single piece fit, bezels for screen and camera protection, and it has a nice smooth touch, not a feature but I liked the case feel. The basic case is a nice light weight type of case for those of you who need some solid protection but aren't looking to turn your S24 Ultra into a brick. The case is generally made of TPU and TPE material and of course has the Neodymium ring magnet built into the case for mounting and ring accessories. The frame and backing of the case seem well built, about as stiff as I would expect for this class of thinner or freer feeling cases. The corners have good strength and a slight addition of material for impact protection. The frontside of the case has a top and bottom bezel that extend maybe one or 2mm above the surface of the screen. This will help prevent the screen from making contact when you drop your phone on a flat surface. Similarly, the cameras have the typical camera cut out region with a bezel for protection. This should keep the cameras and lenses safe when you drop your phone on the floor for example. The sides of the case have a decent amount of TPU material without being bulky so yea, I would say if you like that light free feeling for your phones, this case has you covered. It doesn't come with a screen protector but Torras does sell some nice screen protector kits that I would definitely pair up with this case. The magnet on the backside was decently strong once I figured out which side of my magnetic ring to pair it up with. There’s good space for the S-pen here, the mic and speaker cutouts are good, and there's enough room to plug in my larger USB-c cable so good design work there. I thought it was kind of interesting that this case comes with replaceable buttons? Orange and bright green, I kinda like it to be honest. They just sort of pop in and out, very easy to swap. As far as lighter cases go, I think the Basic from Torras is a competitive option for your S24 Ultra.
