In 1836, Franz Liszt played Beethoven's Piano sonata Opus 106, the famous Hammerklavier Sonata. Hector Berlioz was among the listeners. Berlioz wrote a review full of superlatives. Saying also that Liszt followed all of Beethoven's tempo indications accurately. So, but how long took his performance? Luckily we know.
