THIS IS A CAKE. REALISTIC STRAWBERRY CAKE AND WOODEN BOARD TUTORIAL

Method : 1) To make this strawberry I baked 2, 5" cakes cut each one into two layers, filled them with pineapple buttercream. 2) Then I made a mixture of cake crumbs and buttercream and used that to get the shape of a strawberry 3) Covered the cakes with chocolate ganache, popped them in the freezer until I prepare my cake board 4) For the cake board i used brown colored fondant, used a wood grain texture mat to give it a wooden board look 5)Then i covered my cakes with red fondant and smoothed it. 6) Used a Dresden tool to get the indents on the strawberry 7) Used yellow colored royal icing and Wilton 1 nozzle for the seeds. 8) To make strawberry calyx/crown i used green gumpaste (Wilton kelly green and leaf green mixed together) rolled them and cut the shape using a parchment paper.Dusted the edges with green lusted dust and dark cocoa powder to give them some depth. 9)To get that shiny, glossy look on strawberry I applied some shortening on the surface. 10) Then I assembled the strawberry 11) At this point I felt like that the cake board is not complementing the looks of my fruits, so I painted the board with wilton brown gel color mixed with little water.It looked much better.
