Chinese Kung-fu Actor Jet Li Opens Tai-Chi Center

Chinese martial artist and Kung-fu actor, Jet Li, on March 1 opened a Tai-Chi center in Beijing.

At the opening ceremony, Jet Li said that he would promote Chinese martial arts through more ways than just movies.

With Jet Li at the center was Alibaba Group chair Ma Yun and Tai-Chi lovers and Jet Li fans.

"As ambassador for both the Chinese Wushu Association and International Wushu Federation, I have many ideas about how to promote Chinese culture to the world through signals and symbols. If a panda can promote Chinese martial arts, we ourselves can have more ideas and means of promotion. You will see many ideas materialising into promotive actions this year," said Jet Li at the opening ceremony.

Thanks to his role in the "Tai-Chi Master" movie, Jet Li has been expected to cast again in follow-up movies about Tai-Chi. Tai-Chi is a Chinese way of thinking and the philosophy of yin-and-yang has been blended into various ways of martial arts, like the Tai-Chi boxing and Tai-Chi fencing.

"I appreciate that fans want me to shoot a film like 'Tai-Chi Master' again, but I should also act in accordance with my own mind. I think my major work for now is to set up some platform and create a bright opportunity for the young," Jet Li said.

However, the popular Kung-fu actor did not let down his fans at the ceremony. He asked them to expect his 3D movie "The Legend of Deification" which premieres this summer.
