How to flip the coil on a Rheem air handler from Left Hand Service / Discharge to Right Hand Discharge in order to correctly install the airhandler in the application it will be used in. A good reason for flipping the coil is based on access to the airhandler, whether it needs to be a left hand or a right hand, in most states you are not allowed to crawl over your equipment to gain access. Always make sure that the air handler is charged with nitrogen from the factory, you should hear a popping sound that lets you know the coil does not have any leaks from the factory, always seal off the coil with tape to avoid any debris falling into it. Always save the rubber protector that comes with the TXV to avoid it from getting cut. Always mark your air handler to help you remember how to correctly reassemble the unit. When removing your brackets pay attention to where they will be repositioned to, the shorter bracket goes on the part with the drain. The holes are usually predrilled for the brackets but it is very important to pay attention to how you reposition them, if done correctly the coil should easily slide in to the new position. When putting your doors back on everything should align and you should have a good seal on the cabinet to reduce noise once the air handler is installed and turned on, always make sure everything is nice and clean. If done correctly your supply should be a Right Hand Discharge.
