Dear students,
in this video , i will explain , how you can construct Epi-cycloid with given diameter of the directing circle and rolling circle this is the the seventh under cycloidal curves.
Problem :Draw an epicycloid of a circle of diameter 50 mm, which rolls outside a circle of diameter 180 mm for one revolution. Also, draw a tangent and a normal to the epicycloid at a point 135 mm from the centre of the directing circle
Note: The arc subtended by the arc P-P' is divided by using trial and error method
It is important problem and it was asked many times under university examinations
Note: Watch this video right till the end to have a firm clarity on the concept of the construction of Hypo cycloidal curve.
