Phil Alexander Robertson created the "Duck Commander" duck call in 1972 & incorporated the Duck Commander Company in 1973. Phil played college football at Louisiana Tech University & started ahead of Hall of Fame inductee Terry Bradshaw. He was drafted by the NFL after junior year, but turned the offer down & quit football because it interfered with duck season.
"Duck Dynasty" is a reality television series on A&E. The show centers around the Robertson family from Louisiana who became wealthy from "Duck Commander," their family operated business. Their company makes products for duck hunters, primarily the famous "Duck Commander" duck call. The Robertson men including brothers Phil & Si, and Phil's sons Jase, Willie, & Jep, are known for their long, flowing beards.
