It's so simple and dependable that it's still used as taxi cabs 40 years after its production. It simply refuses to die. However, long before the introduction of the W123 body, there was already a benchmark setter that helped solidify Mercedes Benz's role in the development of the the best passenger car, and has proved that those who wanted four wheels had the option to get the best.... or nothing. I present to you a Paul Bracq masterpiece. Today's tester is on the 1970 Mercedes Benz 250 W114. MY: 1968 - 1976 “New Generation Model” with /8 on the ID plates, meaning 1968 launch, hence the STROKE 8 nickname Semi-modern suspension (semi-trailing rear arms and ball-joint front end) W114.010 Early model. Facelift in 1973 with wider shorter grille, and mouth design bumper 1.9M units made vs W123 with 2.7M units made W114 = 6 cylinder 230, 250, 280 W115 = 4 cylinder 200, 220, 230, 240 and diesels 2.5L M114 I6 130PS, 199Nm torque 2 Zenith Carburetors 722.1 or 722.2 1375Kg ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
