Paanch choohay ghar se nikle karne chale shikaar,
Ek chooha rehgaya peeche baaki rehgaye chaar.
Chaar chohay josh me aake lage bajane been,
Ek chohay ho hogayi khaansi baaki rehgaye teen,
Teen chohay dar kar bole ghar ko bhaag chalo,
Ek chohay ne baat nai maani baaki reh gaye do.
Do choohay mil kar baithe, dono hi the nek,
Ek choohay ko khagayi billi baaki rehgaya ek.
Ek choha joh reh gaya baaki karli usne shaadi,
Biwi isko mili ladaku, yoon hui barbaadi.
Translation:
Five rats left the house and went out to hunt,
One rat was left behind, now remaining are four.
Four rats got very excited and began to play the been,
one rat began to cough now remaining are three.
Three rats got afraid and said let's run back home,
One rat did not listen to them and now remaining are two.
Two rats just sat together, both were very good rats,
One cat came and ate off one rat, so now one rat is remaining,
One rat that was left out he went and got married,
But his wife was always fighting and fighting and hence his life got destroyed.
