Mayo Clinic says there are
Mayo Clinic says there are FOUR types of migraine aura, but in my research, I've found many more than that! None of them seem to be very clearly defined. In this video, I briefly go over what Mayo Clinic describes as the 4th type of migraine aura, Motor Aura. I also ramble a bit about some other things I found, like ocular migraine/retinal migraine, complex migraine, complicated migraine, basilar aura/basilar artery migraine, brainstem aura, and more. More research is needed so we can have a consensus among experts and a more clear diagnosis process for doctors and patients dealing with this horrible disease.
The truth about migraine is it's so much more than a headache! I aim to spread awareness of the reality of living with chronic migraine disease by sharing my experiences openly! I have vestibular migraine and complex migraine with basilar aura or brainstem aura.
