Hi there, I’m going to show you one of the most popular ways to tie a tie – using the Half Windsor knot. The Half Windsor is a symmetrical, triangular knot. It is very easy to do. Start with your collar up and the tie around your neck like this. Take the narrow end of the tie in your left hand and the wide end in your right hand. Now cross each end over – wide end on top – and leave about this much on the narrow end. That is about seven inches or eighteen centimetres. That will save you a lot of time and hassle later on. Wrap the wide end of the tie around the back. The back of the wide end of the tie should be facing outwards at this point. Next, take the wide end of the tie and thread it through the top of this opening, and thread it down like this. Notice that the back end is still facing outward. Now put your index finger on the knot, and with your right hand, wrap the wide end of the tie around the front – creating a cover. With your right hand, push the wide end of the tie through this opening again from the back. Notice how your index finger has created a little tunnel. What you need to do now is thread the tie down through the tunnel and pull it down. The last step is to adjust and tighten the tie – alternating between the long and short ends – gradually pulling the knot up – shaping it as you go – until the tie is exactly how you want it to be. And there you have your Half Windsor knot! Thanks for watching. I hope you found this helpful.
