Thanks for checking out our review of Roland’s RP501, a favorite here at the store, and a piano that we would love the chance to tell you more about. This 88-note mid-range digital piano has plenty to offer for both the first time learner as well as an experienced player in search of a second piano, or perhaps a family in the downsizing phase.
In many ways, the Roland RP501 is a total dark-horse in the world of digital pianos. The exterior design, one of understated wood-tones and a simplistic control panel, belies a feature-rich beauty which out-specs many similarly-priced instruments from the likes of Yamaha.
A home piano with good tone and touch? Check. Lots of on-board features with easy compatibility with the latest educational apps? Check. An elegant furniture style cabinet? Check. If these are the bases you’re trying to cover, the Roland RP501 just might be the piano for you, all for under $2,500.
Currently the top Roland model among the RP line, the RP501 currently serves as an upgraded alternative to Roland’s entry level RP102 or their F140r. Here’s a few reasons to give it some serious consideration:
- Speakers: The RP501 has almost double the speaker power of the RP102.
- On-board Features: Unlike the RP102, the RP501 does not require a tablet or other device to access it’s extensive array of on-board features.
