About the video
The Government of India launched two schemes today, i.e., 12th November 2021 – RBI Retail Direct Scheme and Reserve Bank – Integrated Ombudsman Scheme. The schemes have been launched with the aim to make the financial sector of India stronger and to enhance financial inclusion in the system. The introduction of these bonds in the capital markets will allow for easier access to government securities for retail and small investors. It will also lead to expansion in the bonds market and give a direct access of the government securities market to small scale investors.
RBI Retail Direct Scheme will allow individuals to invest their funds in government securities and RBI Bonds at zero cost. Earlier, it was quite complex for small investors to invest in government bonds because the process used to be quite cumbersome. But the launch of RBI-RDS offers a safe, simple and direct channel to invest in G-Sec Bonds. The scheme will make the Indian financial system more efficient and allow individual investors like salaried class, senior citizens, etc. to buy and sell securities, and contribute towards the economic development of the nation. We will also discuss the various benefits and risks associated with investing in RBI Bonds, bonds investment in India, pros of investing in bonds, and how to invest in them.
