In 2001, a group of brilliant software engineers created the #agilemanifesto as a new style of working that allowed developers to solve complex problems and create products and services that truly delighted customers.
The old waterfall-style of #projectmanagement simply didn't work well in complex environments and this group of individuals wanted to create a culture of learning and working based on #agile principles and values rather than rigid rules and guidelines.
A lightweight #agileframework that empowered them to focus on people, customers, and delivering the most valuable work possible.
#scrum had been developed in the decade preceding the Agile Manifesto and was battle-tested and successfully adopted in multiple applications.
In addition to being a lightweight framework for software engineering, #scrum leveraged 5 values as its north star and had a significant influence on a number of players within the industry.
At the time, it was a revolutionary style of product development that broke free from the stifling and limiting project management frameworks.
It is these Scrum values combined with the lightweight framework for product development that empowered so many engineers and #scrumteams to create products and services that truly delighted customers whilst ensuring that the teams had a high level of satisfaction at work.
