Biotin (Vit B7) Deficiency Signs & Symptoms (& Why They Occur)

Biotin (vitamin B7) is a water-soluble vitamin involved in a variety of essential processes in the body – these processes include gluconeogenesis, branched-chain amino acid metabolism and fatty acid synthesis. Biotin can be acquired from dietary sources and production from gut microbes. If there is not enough biotin acquired, a biotin deficiency will ensue, leading to characteristic dermatological signs and symptoms, which we will discuss in this lesson.
