"While speaking at The Texas Tribune Festival in Austin, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) was asked about his family excursion to Cancún while millions of his constituents were suffering without power due to the effects of a devastating winter storm.
Cruz said he doesn't know how to string power lines and that he doesn't have the ability to control the weather. Cruz continued by adding he was at home with his family, and they were without power, so he made a decision to take his kids to the beach.
Cruz ended his response by saying, 'I get that if you've been told Cruz is the devil, then screaming Cancún is a wonderful partisan thing to do. But if, at the end of the day, your greatest criticism of me is that I took my kids to the beach, I can live with that.'"
