RMNP demands release of Julian Assange and probe into departure of slain journalist Arshad Sharif

Rural Media Network Pakistan (RMNP) has demanded for the immediate release of the founder of WikiLeaks Julian Assange  on humanitarian grounds who has been held in British prison for last four years without trial. An unanimous resolution was adopted in the RMNP World Press  Freedom Day Roundtable entitled," The Role of Free Media as Defenders and Drivers of Human Rights in Pakistan"  held on 3rd May 2023 in the premises of Punjab College AhmadpurEast.In another resolution RMNP called upon Pakistani authorities to ascertain the factors that lead to the departure of senior journalist Arshad Sharif who was shot dead in Kenya on 23rd October 2023.
