Over the 600 years of the Ottoman Empire's existence, about a hundred shehzades were executed. The main reason was the struggle for the throne, when unnecessary heirs said goodbye to life by strangulation. Sultans died for various reasons: some died of illness, others were even killed. But this story is striking not because of the death of the sultan, but because of what happened after the ruler was buried.
The sultan rose from the grave and ordered all his enemies to be killed? No?! The sultan rose from the grave? But how did he get there?
Don't rush to think that this is a made-up story. It is real, which is why it surpasses other deaths of Ottoman rulers.
