"How Great Thou Art" is a Christian hymn based on a Swedish traditional melody and a poem written by Carl Gustav Boberg in 1885. It was translated into German, then into Russian and finally to English and became a hymn. It is interesting to note that the song is set to a Russian melody. It became popular when it was used in Billy Graham crusades. "How Great Thou Art" was voted the UK's favorite hymn and ranked second all time favorite hymn (after "Amazing Grace") in 2001.
