At last, the manual Porsche 992 is here! Stick shift may well have been available in the States for the last year or so, but more stringent EU emissions legislation has meant the 'box has needed a bit more work before Porsche could get it on the road in Europe. So, after TWO YEARS of 992 production, is the manual transmission worth the wait? And has Porsche at last perfected the 7-speed stick shift after nine years of trying?
I sample one of the first manual examples of 992 Carrera S in the UK to find out, after giving you a detailed run down of the history of the manual transmission in the Porsche 911. Thanks to Porsche Cars Great Britain for the loan of the 992, and Paragon GB for the loan of the 2.0-litre 911, 993 Cab, and 991.1 GTS.
