How to Connect and Format Extended Storage on the PlayStation 5 Console

You will need to connect a USB 3.0 or newest USB External Hard Drive to the rear USB Type-A Ports of your PS5. I have yet to test this on the front port of the PS5 using a USB Hub or converter. I will make a short update video with a few observations later on.
