How to know when your sealing wax is the right temperature

The key to perfect wax seals is the temperature.

You’ll want to avoid wax that is not warm enough. You’ll know this when the wax is hard to squeeze out of the gun or comes out in a thick consistency (think natural peanut butter)

You’ll also want to avoid wax that is too hot. You’ll know the wax is too hot when it’s really runny or is oozing excessively out of the gun prior to you squeezing out the wax.

The sweet spot is right in the middle. The wax comes out of the gun smoothly, but still has a little bit of thickness.

👉🏼 My best tip for keeping your wax at the sweet spot temperature is to unplug your gun. When the wax gets too warm, just unplug your gun and keep working. When the wax is not warm enough, then just plug the gun back in.
