Elections (2002) - Papua New Guinea's elections in the country's highlands were rife with corruption, bribery and vote rigging. Opponents were intimidated or attacked, yet the results were accepted.

Over 30 people were killed in election-related violence, including young children. International observers were repelled, the footage of blatant rigging filmed instead by human rights advocates calling for a dramatically reformed process.
