Z-Wave vs ZigBee in 2019
It's time to compare the two big protocols or standards in the home automation industry. Let's dive right in to Z-Wave and ZigBee and tell you the differences, the similarities, and everything in between here in 2019. By the end of this (lengthy) video, you should fully understand the differences and be able to make a good decision as to how to move forward with your #smarthome and home automation.
#ZigBee is one of the biggest smart home protocols, and it runs at the 2.4 GHz ISM frequency. It usually allows for faster speeds than Z-Wave, uses the same power, and has about 2500 devices available for it. It also has something called DotDot, which is being touted as the universal language for IoT.
Z-Wave is a lower frequency (and therefore stays out of interference from WiFi and BT). It transmits further, has about 2400 devices available, and tends to have a better variation of products available for your smart home.
Both of these protocols have a great deal to offer and they can both help you achieve that automated life where you can save time and money.
