How to Touch Up a Deep Scratch on Your Car with TouchUpDirect.

Following this tutorial will show you how to fix a deep scratch on your vehicle. First, find out how deep the scratch is by using the fingernail test. If you run your fingernail over the scratch and it catches, you will need to touch up the damage. Tape off the affected area for sanding and clean the area with the Wax and Grease Remover. Apply putty if needed and begin wet sanding. After wet sanding with a finer grit (1500), apply 2-3 coats of Primer to the area and continue wet sanding (2000 grit). Remember to wait 15 minutes between each coat to allow the paint to dry. This rule applies to Primer, Basecoat and Clearcoat. With the Touch Up Pen, apply 2-3 coats of Basecoat to the damaged area and move on to dry sanding after the paint is dry. After applying the Clearcoat 2-3 times, wait 24-48 hours for the final polish and wax of your car.
