Getting a new Sky dish working with a Sky+ box

We had a brand new Sky dish fitted so that the Sky Q box would work. The Sky Q box has since been taken out. We had a Sky+ box in the loft so I dug it out and it didn't work. I tried a Sky+ HD box and that wouldn't work either. I found out that the problem was with the LNB (low-noise blockdown converter) which picks up the satellite signal and sends it down the coax cables to the receiver. The Sky Q LNBs operate on a different frequency to all other satellite receivers. I bought a compatible LNB for a tenner on eBay and once I got it fitted I was able to receive the free channels. It will also work with the Freesat receivers should I wish to get one in the future.
