Bell Atlantic Corp. v Twombly | Rule 12(b)(6)

The court expands its interpretation of Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 12(b)(6) to include the idea of plausibility. A lawsuit cannot get to the discovery phase unless complaint has facts that make the legal claim plausible. This raises the bar for a lawsuit to get to the discovery phase in a federal court.
