Welcome to Gatineau, Red Arrows and Snowbirds! This is the 2nd time the Royal Air Force's Red Arrows performed at the Gatineau airshow. I look forward to the show; stay tuned for that video :)
*Update* I just got word the Red Arrows have decided to be stationed in Ottawa (YOW) instead due to Gatineau airport limitations - the performance will still take place over the airport.
Also, what an amazing way to celebrate the opening of an embassy... with your country's and host country's demo teams!
The Royal Air Force's renowned Red Arrows Demonstration Team and the Royal Canadian Air Force's iconic Snowbirds Demonstration Team are arriving at Gatineau Airport (YND) from Toronto (YYZ) in anticipation of the
AeroGatineau 2024 Airshow. This marks the Red Arrows' third show in Canada, following their previous performances in Greenwood and Toronto.
The Red Arrows' visit to Canada is a significant aspect of the celebrations marking the Royal Canadian Air Force's centennial anniversary, showcasing the strong ties between the two nations' air forces.
To mark the RCAF's 100th anniversary and the grand opening of the new British High Commission's new embassy, the Red Arrows and Snowbirds performed a joint flypast over the embassy and Parliament.
The Snowbirds flies their Canadian-built CT-114 Tutors, while the Red
Arrows soared in their British-built Hawks. Both aircraft were built as trainers. Meanwhile, Vintage Wings of Canada prepared for the airshow with their iconic Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, and P-51 Mustang.
