This video take a look at the RTC DS1307 module that came with the Elegoo Mega 2560 kit. It is a 5 pin module that operates on 5V and has battery back up in case you loose power to the clock. The display in the video is a 1602A 16x2 LCD display module. I have previously make a video about this LCD module - see link above if you're interested in watching it. I chose to us the Elegoo Mega 2560 for the extra space but You can easily use the Elegoo or Arduino Nano. This video is a DIY real time clock video for beginners and those learning Arduino. Ideally, I would like to create an Arduino clock with alarms, day of the week spelled out, and other options. We will look at real time clock electronics using the DS1307 and what is needed to set up our Arduino circuit. There's not much information on the Elegoo DS1307 module so I did purchase the more popular DS1307 AT24C32 Arduino I2C Real Time Clock Module for a possible future video. Overall, this is an awesome real time clock and I hope you think so too!
After chasing down so many answers for this project I realized it's time to get a good understanding of C++. My goal this summer is to improve in this language significantly...Lets see if I can do it 😁
