How To Travel Bali On A Budget

One of the great reasons to travel to Bali is for it’s unique food and dishes. Local and street food is where you can find the cheapest menus even as little as 16000 – 20,000 Rupiah.

In terms of transport, taxis from the airport to your destination can get a little bit pricy. For example a taxi trip from Denpasar airport to Ubud costs somewhere in the region of 300,000 – 400,000 Rupiah. I highly recommend using Grab.Grab is similar to Uber and is very easy to use.


There is absolutely no need to stay in hostels in Bali as Private villas can be found all over Bali for as a low as 150,000 Rupiah per night. Private villas can also come with private pools or infinity pools.

For other options you can also stay with a host family where you rent a single room with a shared bathroom.

Activities and shopping can be very cheap. There’s so much to see and do in Bali, you can hire a local driver for tours around the island. You can hire a driver for less than 300,000 Rupiah per day.
