Martha Argerich in a fiery
Martha Argerich in a fiery live performance of Beethoven's famous "Waldstein" Sonata. This recording was already available on YouTube, but the final chords were missing, so I decided to reupload the whole thing.
It is very likely that Martha first learned this sonata as a child, when she was studying with Francisco Amicarelli in Buenos Aires.
It's known that on November 6th, 1953 (she was 12!) Martha performed at Teatro San Martin a huge three-part recital featuring the Waldstein sonata and pieces by Scarlatti, Brahms, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Aguirre, Ravel, and Fauré.
Please notice that this recording I uploaded was made much later, in 1970.
