Why Does Maserati Use Ferrari Engines?

With #Ferrari no longer going to supply #Maserati with engines in the near future, we asked ourselves "why does Maserati even use Ferrari engines in the first place?"

Although the two Italian companies were initially rivals, Ferrari wound up with full control over Maserati in 1999. Over the following years, Ferrari would build and supply engines to Maserati, but with notable performance... downgrades.
