The summa perfectionis magisterii part 2 a short essay by Bruce mills
otherwise known as the obligate pedestrian.

Pseudo Geber says ...

Some say that the techniques of alchemy are found in spirits, other say bodies, others salts, or alums, or niters, or boraxes. Some writing about any or all of these have written well and others have written badly. From all of these we have collected the truth by cross checking sources and doing experiments. This process has been rather expensive. Often, I have been misled and confused and even become desperate in my study. I hope these people who have left an evil of misinformation in their books that lasts after their death will rot in hell for it. If I do not correct their errors here, then I deserve no better.

The summa perfectionis of pseudo Geber, a critical edition, translation and
study by William R Newman, 1991

Note: I am not entirely convinced by the translation and interpretation by Newman, on the other hand, I respect his expertise. In broad terms, I seem to be more willing to accept the scientific honesty of pseudo Geber and its correspondence to 21st century science. I will take up this point later, once my first pass through Newman is completed.

Note: I recently saw this article that resonates interestingly with my comparison of transmutation and fusion https://thebulletin.org/2017/04/fusio...
