TEACHING MY DAD HOW TO TAILWHIP SCOOTER!

My dad has been down here in California visiting for the last week or so. Just a few days ago, we put him to the test and had him try and build my custom scooter. I suggested he tried to ride the scooter post-build and he thought it sounded like a good idea. I wasn't sold as quickly as he was, but I figured "hey...let's see what happens". So, I rebuilt the scooter to make sure it wasn't going to fall apart, and here we are. I taught my dad many of the basics of the tailwhip first of course. I wanted to make sure he was comfortable riding in a straight line before trying to jump at all. But, it didn't take long for him to go on his own and try to jump regardless. One of the scariest things about watching your 60 year old father ride a scooter is knowing he doesn't know how quickly looping out can become a reality. My dad did a few bunnyhops before moving forward in attempting the tail whip. Once he got his jumps down, he started to flick the scooters deck slightly. I think it would have been a good idea to get him on a wider Envy Scooters deck, but the 4.75 was all I had at the time. Once he started to get the flick of the tail whip down, it was time to teach him how to tailwhip a scooter with his wrists. Many try to use their arms when doing a tail whip on a scooter. 95% of the trick is within your wrists so remember that if you're learning how to tailwhip yourself. Huge shoutout to my dad for getting out there and trying to tail whip for nearly an hour. Such a great effort. He definitely had me at the edge of my seat whilst watching.
