How to change the impeller on a Volvo Penta Gen 5 engine.

For your convenience, I have provided Amazon Affiliate links below for items discussed in the video. What does affiliate link mean?  I may earn a small (much appreciated!) commission from Amazon for providing the link, but it costs you nothing.

Impeller kit 21700445 (the Genuine Volvo Penta part and link I personally ordered from):  https://amzn.to/3TLK717

Or here is a link if you want to try your luck on a less expensive aftermarket impeller.  Although the manufacturer used/stole still images from my video, I can not endorse one way or the other (lol)! :  https://amzn.to/3TwOq06

1/2x28 to 3/4x16 thread adapter:  https://amzn.to/3xnJUJX or https://amzn.to/4anTWJv (they are the same thing, but one may be better priced).  I suggest adding both to your cart and keeping the best option based on price and availability.

As for the bolt, I ordered it from McMaster-Carr, part number 92620A131.  Sorry, they are not set up to sell on Amazon or to provide a direct link.  So just go to their website (https://www.mcmaster.com) and search for the part number.  Their site says it is not fully threaded, but it did arrive fully threaded.  And since there was probably still at least an inch of threads left when I pulled it, a 2 inch (92620A128) or 2.5 inch (92620A129) long bolt should also work. Probably even a 1.5 inch (92620A127)?  The shorter bolts are priced better than the 3 inch one.

A different adapter type could be used as long as the outer threads match the impeller (3/4x16).  Then of course you would need a different bolt to match the internal threads.

Lastly, please subscribe so you can easily find my channel to return / review the next time you need to  change your impeller.

Thanks for watching!
