HOW TO FIND THE BEAT IN SALSA MUSIC -...
In this lesson you'll get a better visual and audio understanding of beats, bars, tempo, and phrases as we use music software to go through some instrumental examples. It's the first step on your way to understanding salsa music.
Summary:
🔶 BPM "beats per minute" is how you measure the tempo
🔶 "Phrases" are complete musical sentences
🔶 The shortest phrase is 4 beats (1 bar)
🔶 A phrase can be 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 beats etc.
🔶 A phrase can include multiple instruments
🔶 You can have mini phrases within a larger phrase
🔶 Syncopation means the instrument or dancer's step can hit the beats in between the beats, the "&" counts: 1-&-2-&-3-&-4.
