Dust sucks! - Whether you are in your workshop, garage, in the house, or on the job-site, sawdust is no fun! It makes everything messy, it takes forever to clean-up, and it is extremely bad for your health. Wood dust is a known human carcinogen (can cause cancer). Wood dust becomes a potential heath problem when the wood particles become airborne and are inhaled. The best way to combat wood dust is to never let it get air-born, and the best way to do that is to collect it right at the tool.

Bosch 14-gallon Dust Extractor with Automatic Filter Clean - VAC140A
The Bosch VAC140A is a phenomenal dust extracting unit with a great combination of air flow and suction power. It also has the ability for wet pickup with an automatic shut off if the liquid level gets to high. This prevents damage to the power unit (motor) and filter. When paired with a HEPA filter (sold separately), it meets the EPA of a HEPA vacuum.
With many features that set it apart, the Automatic Filter Cleaning (AFC) is the most prominent. The AFC button is located on the front of the unit. It will pulse 3 times, ever 15-seconds, to back burst the filter keeping it clean and free of dust. This keeps the unit performing at max capacity.

Power Tool Activation
A power outlet that is located on the front of the unit allows the user to plug their power tool into the front of the dust extractor. This allows the user to set the VAC140A's power switch into the "Power Tool Activation" mode and simply power their tool on and off and the dust extractor will do the same.
This is a great time saver and keeps the user from forgetting to turn on their dust collection.
Power Broker Dial
The Power Broker Dial is a great feature that allows the user decrease the AMPS that the VAC140A draws. This can accomplish three things:
The power tool may draw too much power and cause the vacuum to have lower power and suction. Simply decrease the Power Broker Dial and give more power to the tool.
The suction that is required for certain applications, such as sanding, may benefit from a lower suction to optimize the fine dust collection. Simply lower the AMPs and decrease the suction.
When the user is on the job-site and maybe using a high AMP tool in conjunction with the VAC140A, the user may trip a breaker. Especially if they are using an extension cord. Adjusting the Power Broker Dial and decreasing the AMPS, the user maybe able to complete their job on a lower AMP breaker and not trip it.
Hose and Cord Wrap
As simple as this sounds, hose and cord management is very important anywhere. When we are in the workshop, being organize is both a utilitarian and physiological thing. We want the workshop, job-site, or work vehicle to look nice and organized. This allows us to be more efficient, less stress, and have a better mood while working.
Simply wrap the hose and cord and the unit looks organized and isn't a tripping hazard or gets caught up with other cords or equipment.
