The Armada Technologies Pro900™ Advanced Underground Locator is designed for tracking underground wiring and finding lost sprinkler valves. It can locate broken or damaged wires as well. The complete Pro900™ kit includes:

(1) Pro900R Receiving Wand
(1) Pro900T Transmitter and Carrying Case
(1) Pro-H3 Stereo Headset
(1) AC Wall Power Unit
(1) Pro-IC4 Inductive Clamp
(1) Pro-GS1 Ground Stake
(1) Set of Black/Red Connecting Leads
(1) Operating Manual
Transmitter Power Options:

AC mains power or internal batteries for the transmitter.
8 “D” (LR20) alkaline batteries for the transmitter.
9-volt square (6LR61) alkaline or lithium battery for the receiver.
Theory of Locating:

Cable locators consist of a transmitter and a receiver.
The transmitter places a tracing signal on the metallic conductor, creating an electrical current and an electromagnetic field.
The receiver amplifies the signal when close enough, following the laws of physics and electricity.
Transmitter Operation:

Direct Clip-on, Broadcast, or Clamp connectionless modes.
Various setup options for power, battery, contrast, backlight, and pattern.
Receiver Operation:

Passive AC mode for detecting live electrical lines without connection.
Options for power down, contrast, backlight, and default mode.
Tracing Wire:

Use null or peak mode to trace wires.
Determine depth using the Equilateral Triangle method.
Verify target accuracy by comparing null and peak responses.
Finding Faults:

Identify breaks or severe wire damage by detecting signal drop-offs.
Finding Irrigation Solenoids and Valves:

Two methods: unbalanced (direct connection) and balanced (disconnect and connect to common wire).
Broadcast Mode:

Connectionless mode with a 25-foot radius for quick scans.
Useful for finding telephone or cable TV lines.
Inductive Clamp Mode:

Use the IC4 clamp for tracing cables or pipes.
Tracing Live Electrical Lines using Passive Mode:

Detect live electrical AC lines in the ground without connecting.
How to Determine Depth:

Use the Equilateral Triangle method for approximate depth determination.
Determining Target Accuracy:

Compare peak and null responses for accuracy verification.
Helpful Hints:

Signal strength changes may indicate anomalies like valves or damage.
Soil conditions significantly affect performance; ensure a good ground.
Practice and experience are essential for mastering the Pro900™.
