Hanukkah (lit. - to dedicate) is a Jewish festival commemorating the recovery of Jerusalem and subsequent rededication of the Second Temple at the beginning of the Maccabean Revolt against the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BCE. A large number of songs have been written on Hanukkah themes, perhaps more so than for any other Jewish holiday.
One of the best known is : Ocho Kandelikas (Eight Little Candles) a Jewish-Sephardic song written by the Jewish-American composer Flory Jagoda in 1983.
Τhe song was part of the wonderful performance: LUNA - theater on the bus,  directed by Damianos Konstantinidis and based on the award-winning book by Rika Benveniste.
